Steps That I Used To Get Content Ideas For My Blog Website
Normally as a website blogger, you will need to get content ideas to be able to write more posts for your blog website and avoid burnout. I will be sharing my own experience on how I get content ideas for my blog website in this post today. And you can learn from my strategy so as to get content ideas for your post.
UNDERSTAND THE NICHE THAT I WANT MY BLOG WEBSITE TO FOCUS ON
The first thing that I do before working on the process of getting content is to first choose and understand the niche that I will be writing content about. And a niche can be known as a particular topic that you will focus on and talk about in your content. Your niche can be technology, health, or finance. For me, I went ahead to choose technology as my niche and web development as my sub-niche, because I love talking about technology and designing websites. I understand web development very well that if you wake me up from sleep and ask me to solve a problem for you in web development, I will do it for you immediately.
CHECK WHAT PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR ON GOOGLE AND SOCIAL MEDIA
I will go ahead to check what people are really searching for on Google and social media under the niche that I have chosen to be writing about on my blog website. For me to know what people are really searching about in the web development niche, I will go to Google and search for “web development” and scroll down to the section where Google shows “People Also Ask” and take note of the questions there because that is what some people are searching for on Google. I will also take note of those search suggestions when I was searching for “web development” on the search bar. After taking note of what people are searching for on Google, I will also go to YouTube and search for “web development” and check the comment section of the most recent videos in that niche so as to take note of some questions that viewers are asking in the comment section. That is how I use Google and YouTube to get content ideas.
USE KEYWORD RESEARCH TOOLS TO FIND CONTENT IDEAS
The other way that I use to get content ideas is by using keyword research tools like Google Trends, Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, and Answer The Public. And how I do it is to open the keyword research tool on my browser and create an account if required. After everything has been set up, I will use the search bar to search for my niche which is “web development” and choose a particular country that I want to target or worldwide. I will then take note of all the questions from my keyword research tool. That is how I also get my content ideas using keyword research tools.
SAVE AND ORGANIZE EVERY CONTENT IDEA THAT COMES TO MY MIND
Sometimes I don't research what people are currently searching online. Sometimes I will just sit down quietly on my own, meditating and having different thoughts running through my mind, and all of a sudden a content idea will just come to my mind without me planning for it. But immediately those content ideas come to my mind, I will open my notes app or use a paper and pen to write those ideas so that I will not forget. And it mostly happens that those types of content will eventually end up getting people to read it. One post idea came to my mind back then and I quickly wrote about it and posted it on my Twitter and Facebook accounts. The post ended up getting many views and comments; the post on Twitter got about 2k views, 20 likes, 4 comments, and 10 reposts. Once any content idea comes to my mind, I always save and write content on them.
TURN WHAT PEOPLE ASK ME EVERY DAY INTO BLOG POST IDEAS
The other way that I use to get blog post content is to write posts on what people always ask me. For example, I made a post on my WhatsApp status or social media about “website SEO” and people started commenting and asking about the tools or other questions concerning SEO. I will write a blog post on those questions that they are asking me and then share the link of the post to them.
