HOW I DESIGNED A WEBSITE IN 3 HOURS (STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE)
I will be teaching you how I was able to design a website in 3 hours and also what prompted me to try to design a website very fast in this post today. And if you also want to achieve the same result, then i will want you to follow and read this post to the end without any distracted attention. I will be starting by telling you the reason why I needed a website fast.
WHY I NEEDED A WEBSITE FAST
Back then that i was done building my expertise as a website design, i then decided that i will be needing a website for my portfolio, so as to be able to show the works that i have done to my target audience like clients, brand, company or business in order for them to hire me as their website developer. The kind of website that I built to show my works is called a Portfolio website and it is a website that contains your name, picture, project, skills, contact details and also links to your social media profiles like Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, tiktok, Instagram. The next thing that I will be talking about is how I was able to choose a good template for my website project.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TEMPLATE FOR MY PROJECT
Template is an already built website for you, which all you have to do is to just change and edit text. What I did was to look for a very good and professional looking template from themewagon and collorib. I went to the template website and searched for the type of website that I want to design on the search bar, which is a portfolio website. After searching for a portfolio website in the search bar, I saw many samples of portfolio websites, which I then had to choose the one that looked best for me, from the template samples and download it to my laptop. That was how I was able to choose a template for my website and I will be talking about how I customize the template to fit what I need the website for.

CUSTOMIZING THE TEMPLATE TO FIT MY STYLE AND ADDING CONTENT
After that I was done choosing a template for my portfolio website, I then went ahead to customize the template to fit what i want the website for and also added content. Customizing your website template is the act of making changes and adding your own style to the website template. For example the website template has a header with a red background and a text that says “welcome to our page”, And you then went ahead to edit the website template header to a blue background and the text to something like “Get your best services here”, what these means is that you have added some customization to the website template. I use HTML, CSS, BOOTSTRAP and JavaScript language (Coding) to build my website and the tool or software that I use to write those language codes is Vs code. After downloading the website template to my laptop (which normally comes in a Zip file), I will extract the downloaded website template file to a new folder. After that I am done extracting the file, I will then open the file with my code editor which is VS code and edit the text on the HTML, and colors on the CSS. After customizing the template to look like what i want, then the next thing that i did was to add content to the website template like images, about me, contact details, logos, descriptions and many more. I wrote some content, uploaded images to the template and also used ai to write some like a short description. After I was done customizing the template and adding content, I then proceeded to save the changes that I made on the website template.
MAKING THE SITE LOOK PROFESSIONAL
As i was done customizing the website template and adding content, the next thing that i need was to make the website to look professional to people that will be coming to the website (website visitors) by correcting grammar error, checking how the website will look on all device sizes using dev tools on my chrome browser and also an extension called responsive viewer, try to increase the website speed by compressing images that are in PNG or JPG to Webp format, sending the website link to friends, to give me feedback on how they see the website, i also used some website performance checker tool to see the percentage of the website performance. That was how I was able to make my website look professional to people that are coming to the website.
LESSONS LEARNED FROM DESIGNING A WEBSITE IN 3 HOURS
The lessons that i learn when i was designed the website in 3 hours is that, you can be able to achieve whatever that you want to build if you plan for it and also put in the work, I also learn that, if you remain consistent on whatever that you are building then your speed will increase, which you can then be able to build faster. Those are some of the lessons that I learned from my experience of building a website in 3 hours.
And I want to assure you that as you start as a beginner in building your website, it can take you more time, but as you continue to build more websites and remain consistent, then you will notice that you will be able to build a website in a short time, like 2 hours.
